Description:

• The incumbent is responsible for designing and producing drawings for metal fabrication components. Using the relevant software, source control drawings, sketches, models, e-mails and verbal instructions, the incumbent ensures that the customer's specifications are met.
• Design and prepare detailed engineering drawings using relevant design software and ensure that drawings produced are within manufacturing capabilities in terms of material and tools
• Prepare job cards and associated documents using Fabri-trak
• Check designs and details before submitting to Manager and contribute to improving designs and detailing
• Programme tools for cutting, punching, and shaping of metal sheets when designing.
• Record, report and document information associated with project/customer specification
• Comply with all regulatory safety policies and standards as well as ensure that Protective Gear is worn at all times
• Adherence to late coming and Absenteeism policies
• Provide support to fellow employees in the Drawing Office and from Production relating interpretation of Drawings, Programs and J/Cards.
• Provide Training and support to junior members.
• Always impart knowledge to fellow employees.

Skills Requirements:

• Accurate creation of drawings to reflect customer requirements using Solid works software
• The ability to understand and interpret job cards
• The ability to understand plans and drawings
• Working knowledge of relevant design software
• Proficiency in Fabi-track software
• Proficient in Microsoft package
• Understand and various production processes limitations
• Knowledge of the metal manufacturing materials
• Proficient in Metacam software
• Basic working knowledge of Autocad
• Knowledge of materials and sheet sizes
• Tooling/ Programming for the punching Machines
• Programming for the Laser Machines
